This article is for parents who are reapplying to UFA on behalf of their student. If you are a new applicant the application will open on April 1st.
The reapplication period for UFA students who intend to return to the program in the upcoming program year is from March 1st to May 31st. In order to be awarded the scholarship next year students must complete the application. Please note, prioritization is not based on first come first served in any way. Parents have until May 31st to complete the application and all returning students are first priority for funding regardless of when the application is submitted, provided it is prior to the deadline.
The application will be opened to all households with a student who has an “Approved” status. During the reapplication process parents can add a new student or reapply for a student who opted out, was deemed ineligible, or was put on hold. These students will be prioritized as siblings of returning students. The application window for new students closes on May 1st regardless of whether or not they are a sibling of a returning student.
For parents with only “Approved” students, the only documentation required is the student's portfolio/assessment.
Returning parents are still required to be residents of Utah, unless they are active duty military stationed inside of the state, and will not be able to change their home of record outside of the state of Utah.
Parents adding an additional student, or reapplying for a student who is not “Approved” will complete the full application requiring proof or residency and income verification. All active duty military will need to provide their active duty orders and proof of Utah state residency (if stationed outside of Utah) regardless of student status.
