To be eligible for the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program, a student must:
- Participate in kindergarten, or grades 1 through 12;
- Be age 5-18 as of September 1 of the scholarship year;
- Be a primary resident of Utah. (This requirement includes children of a military service member,
as that term is defined in Section 53B-8-102); - During the school year for which the student is applying for a scholarship
account:- Not receive a scholarship under:
- Before receiving the scholarship, not be enrolled in:
- An LEA; or
- the Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP) to participate in a course with funding provided under Chapter 4, Part 5, Statewide Online Education Program, which does not include participation in a course by an entity as described in Subsection 53F-6-409(7)
- Ensure their eligibility is not suspended or disqualified under Section 53F-6-401;
- Maintain eligibility in the program by completing the portfolio requirement described in
Subsection 53F-6-402(3)(d).; - Provide verification of primary residence in Utah, including a parent's utility bill, mortgage statement, lease agreement, or property tax records from the current calendar year in which the eligible student is renewing, reapplying, or applying for the scholarship for the first time; and
- For out-of-state military families: Attest that the student is not enrolled in a
public school elsewhere while receiving the scholarship.
Scholarship Amounts
The scholarship amount your student receives depends on their enrollment status, as outlined in Section 53F-6-402(2)(c):
- Private school students: $8,000
- Home-based students ages 5-11 (as of September 1): $4,000
- Home-based students ages 12-18 (as of September 1): $6,000
Application Selection Process
If the program receives more applications than available scholarships, students are awarded using the following preference order:
- Returning students
- Students who have a sibling who received a scholarship in the prior year
- Students from families with annual household income at or below 300% of the federal poverty level
- All others
After applying these preferences, Odyssey uses a random lottery to select students from the remaining applicants.
