Odyssey partners with the Utah State Board of Education to ensure that any participant in the Utah Fits All (UFA) program is not also enrolled in a Local Education Agency (LEA/public school district). Students cannot be enrolled in both programs simultaneously under Utah law.
What if I believe this is an error?
If you have been notified that your student is cross-enrolled in an LEA and believe your student is not enrolled in the LEA listed, or if you have already withdrawn from that LEA, please follow the resolution process below.
How do I resolve this issue?
To resolve a cross-enrollment, please complete these steps:
Step 1: Contact The LEA Reporting Your Student
- Reach out directly to the Local Education Agency (school district office)—not an individual school—that is reporting your student as enrolled. This can be found in the notification email or by reaching out to Odyssey Support.
- Confirm with them that your student is not enrolled or has been properly disenrolled from all schools within their district
Step 2: Request LEA Confirmation
- Ask the LEA to email the Odyssey Support team directly at help.ut@withodyssey.com with confirmation of disenrollment
- The email must include:
- Student's full name
- Student's date of birth
- Parent's full name
- Parent's email address
- Confirmation that the student is not enrolled at any school within the LEA
- Confirmation that the student has been removed from all enrollment reports submitted to the Utah State Board of Education (USBE)
- This documentation must be submitted within 30 days of the initial notification
Step 3: Odyssey Review
- Once we receive the LEA's confirmation email, the Odyssey team will review the documentation
- We will update your status accordingly and notify you of the resolution
Why does the confirmation need to come from the LEA?
The confirmation must come directly from the LEA instead of the parent for two important reasons:
-
District-wide verification: Students can be enrolled at different schools within the same district. The LEA can verify that your student is not enrolled at any school within their entire district.
-
Official reporting source: LEAs are responsible for submitting enrollment data to the Utah State Board of Education. Their confirmation ensures the accuracy and authenticity of the disenrollment information.
What happens if I don't resolve this issue?
Students cannot remain enrolled in both UFA and an LEA. Failure to resolve cross-enrollment will affect your student's continued participation in the Utah Fits All program.
