Dear UFA Parents,
It is almost time for awards to be issued! If you have not already done so please make your school selection. For our currently enrolled students we have some important updates, please read carefully.
Reimbursements:
Reimbursement submissions for the 2025/2026 program year have closed. In the last four days of the reimbursement window we received over 10,000 reimbursements submissions. For context, we typically receive an average of 800 reimbursements per day. Our largest peak this year was when the program opened in September and we received 5,000 reimbursement submissions in the first week.
As a result of this high volume we are amending our previously issued guidance. Reimbursement decisions will be finalized by June 15th. All reimbursement appeals will now be due by June 19th. It is important that if you need to appeal a reimbursement you do so as soon as possible. Odyssey needs to close out all reimbursements by June 30th in order to facilitate the roll over funds.
The marketplace will remain open until June 30th. If you still have remaining funds you have until June 30th to spend those funds in the marketplace. After June 30th any remaining funds will be rolled over at a 2/3rds rate (capped at $2,000). These roll over funds will be available when funding is issued in July for the next program year.
School Selection:
School selection/enrollment is necessary to determine funding amounts. School selection and enrollment confirmation is due on June 15th. Please note, you can only select a school that provides education for the grade level corresponding with your student’s grade level. For example, a 5th grade student cannot be enrolled in a school that only provides education for 9th-12th grade.
We have received some parent questions regarding school enrollment and would like to emphasize that funding will be determined based on confirmed student enrollment. Meaning parents must select a school and have their enrollment confirmed by the school in order to receive the private school funding amount. Schools have been instructed not to confirm the enrollment of students who do not attend their school.
Spending 2026/2027 Funds:
Awards will begin being issued on June 16th, but spending for the 2026/2027 program year does not begin until July 1st. This means that if your student is awarded the scholarship in June you will not be reimbursed for spending that occurs before July 1st. The exception to this rule is tuition: if you paid a deposit, enrollment fee, or tuition before July 1st to secure your student's spot for the 2026/2027 school year, you may submit that expense for reimbursement once funding has been issued.
