We are excited to share the latest updates from the Utah Fits All (UFA) program. Thanks to your partnership and participation, families made more than 20,000 transactions, worth more than $22.5 million, in just the first week of this program year! The vast majority of these purchases were completed directly through the Odyssey marketplace, highlighting how easy it is to use. Since launch, the Odyssey team has added more than 6,000 offerings to the marketplace, and our team continues to add offerings and vendors everyday.
As you know, funding for the 2025 - 2026 programmatic year was issued last week. We are excited to announce that this week additional funding will be released to families on the UFA waitlist. We will continue to award families from the waitlist as funding becomes available based on the UFA prioritization criteria. In addition, we have reconciled and updated balances for a small number of families after receiving a supplemental dataset last week from the previous program provider.
Additionally, we would like to take this opportunity to address some inquiries raised to our customer support team.
Program Timelines:
The 2025 - 2026 program year started on July 1st, 2025 and will end on June 30th, 2026. Current year awards cannot be spent outside of this program window. For example, a student cannot prepay for a service that occurs after June 30th, 2026 with this year's funds. Similarly, a new, non-returning, student cannot be reimbursed for spending that took place before July 1st, 2025. This decision is based on the Utah state code that governs UFA and cannot be adjusted.
Because the previous program provider couldn’t complete all reimbursements before the transition, some returning students received additional funding this week. To ease the transition, returning students may submit retroactive reimbursements for purchases dated January 1 through June 30, 2025. This policy was first shared with parents on July 2, 2025, and the dates have remained consistent.
As previously shared, returning parents are able to use 100% of their remaining funds through October 21, 2025. Beginning October 1, 2025, Odyssey will stop accepting retroactive reimbursements for returning students so we can finish processing any 2024 - 2025 reimbursements before those funds roll over. From that date forward, all reimbursements must be for purchases made within the 2025 - 2026 program year.
Reimbursements:
Parents can access the reimbursement portal by selecting their student’s profile on the Odyssey platform. Odyssey has released three policies pertaining to reimbursements. Prior to the Marketplace opening, Odyssey worked with Utah parents and state officials to broaden our reimbursement policies in order to accommodate parent needs. These policies continue to remain broad in scope and have not changed. Please take the time to carefully read these before submitting a reimbursement:
The reimbursement portal will continue to receive updates in the coming weeks and months. Some upcoming features parents can expect to see in the near-term include:
- The ability to cancel submitted reimbursements
- The ability to see reimbursement rejection reasons in their portal.
- More information regarding rejection reasons
- Improved reimbursement categories
Tuition Payments:
For those attending approved schools on the Odyssey platform, the platform is currently configured to only allow one tuition payment per program year. Please keep this in mind when making tuition payments. For those who have already made a tuition payment and need to make additional payments, we will release an update that will allow users to do so. Please monitor your email for our announcement of this feature which is expected to be delivered in October.
For those who attend a non-UFA approved school, you can submit your tuition payment for reimbursement. For these reimbursements please select the “Tuition and Education Fees” Reimbursement Type and the “Registration Fees” Category. Odyssey is in the process of amending this category to “Tuition and Registration Fees” so please be aware of this upcoming change.
Public School/LEA Checks:
On August 21, 2025, the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) provided Odyssey with a list of students who appear to be cross-enrolled in both a Utah public school (local education agency, or LEA) and the UFA scholarship. Cross-enrollment isn’t allowed under Utah state code, and during both the application and the opt-in steps each parent attested that they would disenroll their student from the LEA. Families on this list will receive two emails. First, a courtesy notice to allow time for parents and LEAs to update enrollment. After which, if your UFA student continues to be present on LEA rosters, an official notice with further instructions will be received. After the official notice is received, parents will have five business days to disenroll before scholarship funding is suspended. Please note that Odyssey cannot disenroll students from an LEA; families must work directly with their LEA or school to complete disenrollment and, once finished, can confirm the change with Odyssey. If you disenroll from your LEA, we suggest that you acquire proof of disenrollment, such as a letter from the LEA, or a screenshot of your LEA portal indicating your student has disenrolled and the date of disenrollment.
These cross enrollment checks will be conducted throughout the program year to ensure parents are not violating Utah state code.
Opt in/Opt out:
Parents have 30 days from funding, until September 20th, to opt into UFA. If a student has not opted in within the 30 day timeframe, funds may be removed from the student so that a student on the waitlist may be funded.
If at any point you decide to enroll your student in an LEA, or withdraw your student from the program you may go into your student’s profile and opt out of the program. Please note, a student cannot opt out, attend an LEA, and later opt back into the program.
If you need assistance opting in or out of the program please contact support.
Thank you again for your trust and partnership for the Utah Fits All program. Together, we are building a program with integrity that provides families with choice and opportunity. We are grateful for your commitment and look forward to supporting you and your students throughout the school year.
