Tuition and Fees Come First
ESA funds must first be used to pay tuition and fees at an Iowa-accredited nonpublic school. This is completed through the Odyssey portal.
Using Remaining Funds
Once tuition and fees are covered, any remaining funds can be used for approved educational expenses through the Odyssey Marketplace. Examples include:
- Laptops, desktops, and tablets
- Textbooks and course materials
- Tutoring services
- Educational therapy
Purchases made outside of the Odyssey Marketplace are not eligible and will not be reimbursed.
About the Odyssey Marketplace
The Odyssey Marketplace is a closed platform featuring approved vendors, products, and services for Iowa's Students First ESA program. All eligible purchases must be made through the Marketplace.
