This article is intended for approved parents/guardians to understand the steps they need to take after approval to ensure their student’s continued eligibility for 2025-26 Students First ESA funds.
Once your student has been approved for the ESA program, there are a few more required steps to complete through your Odyssey Portal. These steps must be completed by September 30, 2025, to ensure your student remains eligible to receive and retain ESA funds for the 2025-26 school year.
Step 1: Select Your Student's School
Log in to your Odyssey Portal and select the accredited nonpublic school your student plans to attend for the 2025-26 school year.
- This step must be completed before September 30.
Step 2: Enrollment Verification
After selecting a school, the school must verify your student’s enrollment.
- The school will complete this step in the Odyssey system.
Step 3: Confirm Fall Tuition and Fees
Once enrollment is verified, the school will upload your student’s Fall tuition and fees to the Odyssey Portal.
- You will be notified when this information is available.
- Log in to your Odyssey portal to review and confirm the Fall tuition and fees.
All Fall tuition confirmations must be submitted by September 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM
Please understand that for your student to remain eligible for ESA funds for the 2025-26 school year, you must:
- Enroll your student in an accredited nonpublic school in Iowa and select the school through your Odyssey Portal.
- Confirm tuition and fees through your Odyssey Portal.
