Students who were awarded on June 16th, 2026 have until June 30th to opt in. On July 1st, any awarded students who have not opted in will be moved to Opted Out in order to free up funds for waitlisted students.
Students awarded in subsequent rounds of funding will have two weeks from their award date to complete the opt-in process. If you do not opt in within two weeks, your student will be automatically opted out.
Step 1: Log in to your Odyssey Account
After your student is marked as Approved-Awaiting Opt-In, please log in to your Odyssey Parent Portal. Here, you'll be able to see the application status for all students.
Step 2: Navigate to the Student's Profile
Navigate to the student's profile and click Confirm Student Participation. If your household has multiple students, you must opt in for each student individually.
Step 3: Review the Participation Window
You will see a pop-up titled Confirm Student Participation. This is where you'll confirm your participation and begin the student selection process. Please note that opting in must be completed separately for each student.
Step 4: Make Your Selections
Each eligible student is listed. By clicking the checkbox next to your selected student(s), you are confirming their participation in the program.
If you don't check the box for your student(s), you are opting them out of the program. This means you will forfeit your student's place in the program for the 26-27 academic year, and they will not be eligible to receive UFA funds.
Step 5: Confirm Your Decision
Click Confirm once you've made your selections. You'll receive a final confirmation before your selection is submitted.
Step 6: View the Updated Status
Once confirmed, your student's status will update automatically in the dashboard.
Statuses You May See
Status | What It Means |
Approved - Awaiting Opt-In | Student is approved and must complete the opt-in process. |
Approved | Student has opted into the program and will be receiving funds. |
Opted Out | Student has opted out of the program and will not be receiving funds for the program year. |
Eligible | Student qualifies for the program, but is on the waitlist for funding. |
Changing Your Mind?
If you opted in and have decided that you now want to opt out, go to the student's profile and click [Opt Out].
🔁 Once a student is opted out, their participation is forfeited for the current program year. You will need to reapply during the next cycle if you'd like them to participate again. If you believe an error was made and a student was opted out by mistake, please contact our support team.
