What Extra Fees Can Be Paid With ESA Funds?

This article helps Iowa schools understand which additional fees can be paid with Students First ESA funds and how to make those fees available to families.

How to Offer Additional Fees

If your school wants to make additional fees payable with ESA funds, your school must complete the vendor application process.

Additional fees must be listed as offerings in the Odyssey Marketplace. They should not be added to the student’s tuition total on the School Admin page.

To apply, complete the Iowa Vendor Application.

All schools must be reviewed and approved. Once approved, your school can log in to the Vendor Admin page and upload offerings.

Each offering is individually reviewed by Odyssey and the state. Once an offering is approved, families can purchase the fee through the Odyssey Marketplace using ESA funds.

What Additional Fees Are Covered?

Additional fees covered by ESA funds include:

  • Registration fees

  • Sports fees

  • Test fees

  • Extracurricular activity fees
