Quarterly Opt-In for Georgia Promise Scholarship Funds
Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, families participating in the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program will need to complete a Quarterly Opt-In before they can use scholarship funds each quarter.
This is a new requirement established by the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA).

What is the Quarterly Opt-In?
The Quarterly Opt-In is a short confirmation that verifies your student is not enrolled in a public school during the quarter in which scholarship funds will be used.
Before you can spend scholarship funds for a quarter, you must review and accept the required statement for that quarter.
The attestation will read:
"I confirm that for , from to , my student is not in public school and will not attend public school while using scholarship funds for this quarter."
Is this different from the Program Opt-In?
Yes.
There are now two separate steps:
- Program Opt-In – Completed after your student is approved for the Georgia Promise Scholarship to participate in the program.
- Quarterly Opt-In – Completed once each quarter before you can use scholarship funds during that quarter.
Both are required before funds can be spent.
Which quarters require an opt-in?
You must complete an opt-in for each funded quarter of the school year.
| Quarter | Dates |
|---|---|
| Quarter 1 | July 1 – September 30 |
| Quarter 2 | October 1 – December 31 |
| Quarter 3 | January 1 – March 31 |
| Quarter 4 | April 1 – June 30 |
What happens if I miss a Quarterly Opt-In?
You can still complete it later.
If you have missed more than one quarter, you'll need to complete the attestation for each missed quarter before your spending access is restored.
For example:
- You did not complete the Quarter 1 Opt-In.
- You also did not complete the Quarter 2 Opt-In.
- When you return, you will complete the Quarter 1 confirmation and then the Quarter 2 confirmation before you can use your scholarship funds.
Once all required Quarterly Opt-Ins have been completed, your spending access will be restored.
Can I spend funds if I haven't completed the Quarterly Opt-In?
No.
Until all required Quarterly Opt-Ins have been completed, you will not be able to use scholarship funds for:
- Tuition payments
- Marketplace purchases
- Reimbursement requests
- Any other scholarship spending
Your scholarship funds may still be deposited into your account, but they cannot be used until the required Quarterly Opt-In(s) have been completed.
Do I need to complete the Quarterly Opt-In for each student?
Yes.
Quarterly Opt-Ins are completed for each individual student.
If you have more than one student participating in the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program, each student's eligibility is managed separately.
What if I applied during a late application period?
Students approved during a late application period only need to complete Quarterly Opt-Ins for the quarters in which they receive scholarship funding.
For example, if your student begins receiving scholarship funds starting in Quarter 3, you will only complete the Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 Opt-Ins.
Will I receive a reminder?
Yes.
Each quarter, Odyssey will send an email when the Quarterly Opt-In becomes available so you'll know it's time to complete it.
You can also log into your parent portal to complete the Quarterly Opt-In whenever it is available.
Why is this required?
Georgia requires participating families to confirm each quarter that their student is not enrolled in a public school while using Georgia Promise Scholarship funds.
This helps ensure scholarship funds are used in accordance with state law and program requirements.

- Your account information
