When applying for the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program, there may be families with special cases that may not have the required documents to apply but can still qualify for the program. This article explains the process for active duty military families having lived in Georgia for more than a year and families receiving SSI.
Active Duty Military Families:
If an active duty military family living in Georgia for more than a year without a valid GA ID is trying to apply for the program, they'll be able to upload their active duty orders during the government ID portion of the verification process.
- During the "State ID or Driver's License" section, they must upload their active duty military orders a total of three times. The application will then go under review and our team will be able to manually verify the application.
SSI Families:
If a family doesn't have a 1040 form because they're on SSI, they'll be able to upload their SSI document during the 1040 portion of the verification process.
- During the "1040 Form" income verification section, they must upload their SSI document a total of three times. The application will then go under review and our team will be able to manually verify the application.
