When Will Funding Be Available?
On July 1, funding will be available to Texas students who have opted into the program and have a verified school enrollment (or homeschool selection).

| Private School Students | Private school students will receive 25% of their annual award on July 1. Another 25% disbursement will occur in Q2 (10/01/2026). The remaining 50% will be disbursed in Q3 (02/01/27). |
I Received Award Notification; Why Was I Not Funded on July 1?
If you received an award notification but did not receive funding on July 1, it is due to one of the following reasons:
- You are still in an "Approved - Awaiting Opt In" status. In order to receive funding, you must opt your student(s) into the program and agree to adhere to all program rules.
- You have not selected a school yet. You must select either homeschool or an approved private school for every child in order to receive funding. If you intend to homeschool your student, simply make that selection and opt in to unlock funding. If you intend to have your student attend a private school, please make the selection prior to July 15th so that your selected school has time to confirm enrollment by July 31st in order to receive funding.
- You have selected a school, but the school has yet to verify enrollment. The school must conduct this action by July 31st in order for your student to receive funding. If you have selected the school and are awaiting the school to verify enrollment, please contact your school.
- Your student was moved to a non-awarded status. As part of the TEFA program, we are consistently auditing the program. Please check your student status on the Odyssey portal. If your student is no longer in an "Approved" or "Approved - Awaiting Opt In" status, then that means your student's status was revised after further review and verification. If your student status was updated, you received a notification to the email address associated with your account.
I Did Not Receive an Award Notification; Will I Receive Funding?
CPA and Odyssey will continue to award students until there is no funding available.
As awarded students Opt Out of the program, their funding becomes available to students on the waitlist.
Additionally, if awarded students do not select a school or opt in by the deadline, their funding may also become available to students on the waitlist.
The waitlist is rank ordered by household priority tier and lottery number.
If you are selected from the waitlist, you will receive a notification.
Please be prepared to make a school selection if you are awarded from the waitlist.
What Happens If I Don't Get Selected from the Waitlist?
If your student is not selected from the waitlist for this program year, then you will need to re-apply in year 2 of the program.
Your waitlist position does not carry over year to year.
