Where do I see my student’s Award Amount in the Odyssey portal?
To view your student’s Award Amount:
- Go to the Odyssey login page
- Enter your email address and password and click Sign In
- Once logged in, you will be taken to your Dashboard
- You can find your student’s Award Amount directly on their student card on the Dashboard after logging into the Odyssey Parent or Application portal. The amount will appear prominently for students who have been approved for the TEFA program.
What is the Award Amount on my student’s dashboard?
If your student has been approved for participation in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) Program, you will now see an Award Amount displayed directly on your student’s card on the dashboard after logging into Odyssey.
This amount represents the total funding your student is expected to receive for the upcoming school year, based on program rules and eligibility.
Where can I find the Award Amount?
After logging into the Odyssey Parent or Application portal:
1. Navigate to your Dashboard
2. Locate your student’s card
3. If your student is approved, you will see:
- The Award Amount displayed prominently
- A label indicating “Award Amount”
- A tooltip with additional details about when funds will be available
What changed?
Previously, the student card only displayed:
- Student name and grade
- Application status (such as Eligible or Approved)
- School selection status
Now, for approved students, the card also includes:
- Award Amount (new)
- Additional context about when funds can be used
When can I use these funds?
The Award Amount reflects funding for the upcoming school year. Funds will not be immediately available to spend.
A tooltip on the dashboard will indicate timing, for example: “Funds will be available to spend when the program opens in July 2026.”
You will be notified when your account is fully funded and ready for use.
Can my student’s Award Amount change?
Yes. Based on program rules, your student’s award amount may change before funding is issued depending on the educational setting you select.
For example:
- Students attending a private school receive funding based on private school program guidelines
- Students who are homeschooled receive funding based on homeschool program guidelines
Your student’s final funding amount will be determined after you complete your educational setting selection and before funds are made available.
We recommend selecting your student’s educational setting as soon as possible, as this directly impacts funding.
Why don’t I see an Award Amount?
You may not see an Award Amount if:
- Your student has not yet been approved
- Your application is still under review or in an appeals process
- Your student is not eligible for funding
If your status changes to Approved, the Award Amount will appear automatically on your dashboard.
Does seeing an Award Amount mean I can access my wallet?
No. Seeing an Award Amount does not mean funds are available yet.
Wallet access and spending will only be enabled after funding has been issued and when the program officially opens for use.
What should I do next?
If you see an Award Amount:
- Review your student’s information
- Complete any required steps (such as selecting a school or educational setting)
- Watch for updates about when funding becomes available
