This article is intended for Texas parents to understand student testing under the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) Program.
TEFA program participants in grades 3-12 enrolled in an approved private school are required to take an approved nationally norm-referenced or state-approved assessment each year. Homeschool students are not required to take an assessment. Most special education students take the same tests as other students, though some may be excused in special cases. Schools can provide testing supports based on the student's individualized education program (IEP).
Parents are required to provide assessment results to Odyssey in order to verify compliance with program requirements.
