This article is intended to help LA GATOR parents understand the meaning of the statuses in the Odyssey Parent Portal.
Statuses and Their Meanings:
Application Status
Reflects the status of the student's Odyssey application.
Status | What does the status mean? |
Eligible | The student qualifies for the program based on the guidelines. Eligibility does not guarantee approval or funding. Students in this status are on the waitlist until further notice. |
Approved - Awaiting Opt-In | The student is approved and must complete the opt-in process to participate in the program. |
Approved | The student has opted into the program and will be receiving funds. |
Approved - On Hold | The student is approved, but fund use is paused pending additional agent investigation. |
Opted Out | The student has opted out of the program and will not be receiving funds for the remainder of the program year. Any unused funds are forfeited and returned to the state. |
Under Review | The Odyssey Manual Review Team is reviewing the application to determine if the student qualifies for the program. |
Ineligible | The student does not qualify for the program based on the guidelines. |
Closed | The account was closed so the parent could reapply or redo their application—this usually happens when an error was made during the initial application. |
Enrollment Status
Reflects the current status of the student’s enrollment request at their chosen educational setting.
Status | What does the status mean? |
Pending | The school must review the enrollment request and determine if the student will be enrolling with them. (Students who select Home-based Education may see a Pending enrollment status; no further action is needed in this case.) |
Verified | The school has verified the enrollment request and determined that the student will be enrolling with them. The school must now set the annual tuition and fees amount through the Odyssey School Portal. |
Confirmed | The school has verified the enrollment request, and the parent has confirmed the annual tuition and fee amounts set by the school. |
Denied | The school has verified the enrollment request and determined that the student will not be enrolling with them. Parents must select a new educational setting. |
Closed | The school is no longer available on the Odyssey platform, and a new educational setting must be chosen. |
IMPORTANT: Selecting a school in the Odyssey Platform does not enroll your child in that school. Officially enrolling in a school is a separate process that is not completed through the Odyssey platform. To complete enrollment, please contact your school directly and adhere to the required admissions procedures.
Tuition Status
Reflects the status of the annual tuition and fees.
Status | What does the status mean? |
Review tuition & fees | The school has verified the enrollment request and has set the annual tuition and fees. The parent must review the amount and confirm if the amount is correct. |
Confirmed | The school has verified the enrollment request, and the parent has confirmed the annual tuition and fee amounts set by the school. |
Denied | The school has verified the enrollment request, and the parent has denied the annual tuition and fee amounts set by the school. The school must edit and resubmit the annual tuition and fees. |
IMPORTANT: To use the scholarship funds, the parent must first confirm the annual tuition and fees amount set by the school. This process is separate from the tuition payment process.
