This article is for families who need help locating their child’s Louisiana Student Identification Number (LASID) for the LA GATOR application process.
Where to Find the LASID
A student’s LASID should be listed on their evaluation or Individualized Education Program (IEP) under the "State ID Number" section. If it is not included, there are steps you can take to find it.
What to Do If the LASID Is Missing
1. Contact the Local Education Agency (LEA) or Public School District
- Reach out to the public school district or agency that created your child’s evaluation or IEP. They may be able to provide the LASID.
2. Request Student Records
- If the LASID is still not available, you can submit a Student Records Request to the Louisiana Department of Education.
- To request records, you will need:
- A completed personal consent form
- A copy of the consenting person's driver’s license for identity verification
- The school or district name listed on the IEP form
- Email all documents to ldedata@la.gov for processing.
Following these steps will help ensure your child’s LASID is properly recorded for the application. If you have any questions, please reach out to Odyssey Support for assistance.
