School's Responsibility for Delinquent Tuition Payments and State Communication

This article is intended for schools seeking guidance on handling delinquent tuition payments and their responsibilities regarding Promise Scholarship funds and reporting to GESA

Parents are responsible for paying tuition fees, and they may use Promise Scholarship funds if they choose. However, if parents don’t allocate those funds, the school can take actions in line with its policies, such as charging late fees or dismissing the student, as long as Promise participants are treated the same as other students. Schools are not required to report delinquent payments to GESA, but they must notify GESA if a student withdraws from the school.
