This article is intended for individuals inquiring about service provider eligibility.
A person or vendor is eligible to become a service provider if:
1. The person or vendor provides tutoring services and is an educator certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
2. The person or vendor provides services, including, but not limited to, occupational, behavioral, physical, or speech-language therapies, and is a physician or therapist licensed pursuant to Chapter 10A, 28, 33, 34, or 44 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia.
3. The person or vendor is not a participating school and provides services covered as qualified education expenses approved by the Authority.
4. To prevent waste, fraud, and abuse, the definition of “service provider” does not include therapies provided by the student’s family. For this sub-rule, “family” includes parents, stepparents, guardians, siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings, grandparents, step-grandparents, aunts, uncles, or first cousins.
