Do foster families have different requirements?
Yes. Children in foster care or out-of-home care qualify as a priority group so income verification documents are not applicable. You still need to submit the general identity and residency documents.
What additional documents does a foster family need to submit?
To provide proof of foster status, you must upload a copy of
- Florida DCF placement order or court order — documenting the child's current placement
- Letter from the child's assigned DCF case manager — on DCF or contracted agency letterhead; must confirm current placement status
- Current case plan or service plan, if provided by DCF
What additional documents are required if the child is placed in out of home care?
To provide proof of out-of-home care status, you must upload a copy of
- Relative caregiver court order or safety plan — judicial or administrative order placing the child with a relative or non-relative caregiver
- Proof of Relative Caregiver Program (RCP) participation, if applicable
