This article is for Louisiana parents to understand the rules they must follow when participating in the GATOR Program.
When applying to the LA GATOR Program, parents must follow these rules:
- Ensure the student receives education in core subjects like English, math, social studies, and science.
- Use account funds only for approved education expenses.
- Comply with all program requirements.
Students in the GATOR program are required to take a standardized test, such as LEAP, a nationally norm-referenced achievement test, or a nationally recognized aptitude assessment chosen by their school. Students with disabilities may be exempt.
Failure to complete the required testing could affect the student's eligibility for the program in future years.
