This article is meant for Idaho vendors to understand why Odyssey is currently denying class offerings.
As the Office of the State Board of Education refines the operations of the Empowering Parents Program they have determined, that until the Board votes on the matter, which is anticipated to take place in October, no new vendors that intend to offer classes or camps are to be approved to participate in the marketplace.
The Empowering Parents Parent Advisory Panel (EPAP) will be asked to consider recommending to the Board that camps and classes be approved as an additional category of eligible expenses, as allowed by Section 33-1030(2)(f), Idaho Code.
The EPAP has stated its intent to make such recommendations for the Board to consider at its October meeting, but not before. If the EPAP chooses to make such a recommendation, and the Board subsequently approves it, potential vendors can reapply at that time.
All businesses that offer classes will be denied.
